Beautiful mountains laced with trees, hide the tears that no one sees.
Mountains tall, mountains small, mountains hiding the pain of all.
Everyone climbs a mountain each day, feeling stress, fears, loss, and led astray.
Don’t forget the dreams that meander like a stream tickling our soul, waiting patiently to play the role.
Take one step and then another, the mountain reaching out like a mother.
Fear not your steps forward and back, forward and back. The mountain stands strong, cheering you on.
” Don’t give up!” the mountain chants. “The top is near, do not fear, just persevere!”
Step by step, forward and back, stumble easy, stumble hard, forward and back, forward and back.
Soon bright sunlight warms the way, the climb is complete, gone is the gray.
The mountain is happy, as the trees sway, clapping their leaves as if to say, “You did not give up, you gave it your all. Believe in yourself, believe in your heart, always remember each day is a new start.”
Love,
Cynthia
Mountains to Climb……….
When I think of my life, I think of the many mountains I climbed along the way. Sometimes I feel like I am climbing on a daily basis.
Often I climb small mountains reaching the top in no time at all, while sometimes the tall mountains keep me climbing for days. Then, there are the mountains that keep me climbing and climbing. I am still praying and hoping to reach the top at some point in my lifetime.
Don’t give up………
We each will have a mountain or two to climb at some time in our lives. Some will have more than their share to climb, some will struggle with the climb giving up before they reach the top, while others avoid the climb entirely.
I believe, that one of the many keys to working through our hurts, losses, and problems of all sorts is to never give up. I realize that it is not always easy to move forward, make changes, solve problems, and heal broken hearts. But we have to try and keep trying.
For every season………
I believe that everything that happens in our life, happens at just the right moment. And often than not, issues we are facing work themselves out with time and perseverance.
The mountain………..
I think of the mountain as the problems we face in our daily lives, the dreams we dream, and the love and acceptance we are all looking for.
My dream…….
One of my favorite movies is; The Sound of Music. I love the scene, where Mother Superior sings about climbing every mountain until you find your dream.
One of my many dreams is to make a difference with my words. I hope my stories will inspire those who read them, to reach out and help others, strive to make a difference, and love and accept all those who cross our path.
The message…..
Think of each problem as a mountain, start climbing and don’t ever give up! Even if you have many mountains keep climbing! Have faith in your decisions and keep stepping up.
My heartfelt thoughts……
Dear readers,
As I wrote this story, I suddenly realized that I have been climbing a mountain every time an idea comes to mind, as I turn on my computer, and as my fingers touch each letter and punctuation mark.
When I think back to an earlier age, the love of words was already engrained in my heart.
But then time took me down another road: marriage, children, college, teaching, retirement.
Five years ago the words once again tugged at my soul and would not let me be. They tugged and pulled each moment of each day until I knew that I must write.
I pray for guidance with each story I write, hoping to help others and bring glory to the One who loves me.
With love……….
When you are struggling with worry, pain, stress, and loss, or following a dream, be brave and courageous and take a leap of faith as you take each step leading you to the very top of your mountain.

Every mountain we climb leaves us with a message or a lesson. Sometimes we can’t see it at the time, but eventually it will become a part of who we are!
