Happy New Year Skyler

Skyler was born on July 1, 2016. He was a beautiful baby boy with blue eyes and brown hair.  Skyler had a smile that could melt ice cream in a flash.  On July 29, 2016, I received a call that my sweet, charming little great-grandson had made his journey to Heaven.  We were all devastated beyond words.

This is the third of many letters to come about a little boy whose loved touched so many people.  In November, I wrote, Happy Thanksgiving Skyler. December found me writing, Merry Christmas Skyler. I hope you will enjoy, Happy New Year Skyler.

Dear Skyler,

Sweetheart, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas in Heaven.  We all missed you as we opened our gifts, ate a delicious meal, and hugged each other when it was time to head home.  Although it was a nice day, someone was missing. That someone was you.  I long to hold you, kiss your little cheeks, and hug you softly against my heart.

Soon we will be celebrating a new holiday. It is called, New Year’s Day.  Skyler, New Year’s Day is the start of a brand new year. It will be day one of 365.  It is a day when we will think of the future and hope that every day will be filled with happiness and love.  Will you be celebrating New Year’s Day in Heaven?

Dear Gigi,

I miss you too! I miss my Mommy, Nana, Daddy, Pop-Pop, and my big brother, Preston.  I will not be celebrating New Year’s Day because every day is a brand, new day in Heaven.  Jesus wants me to tell you that everyone on earth can celebrate a new day, every day too.  When the sun comes up in the morning and you open your eyes, Jesus is giving you His heart. His heart is filled with love and forgiveness.  Sometimes I am just a little naughty, but Jesus does not get upset with me. He just picks me up and hugs me. I can feel His love in my heart.  His love tickles me every time. I love when He tickles me!  Gigi,  a lot of people are sad on earth.  They are hungry and many need a place to live. When you help those who need help, it tickles Jesus’ heart and His love pours out like a rainbow.  Please help everyone who needs help.

Sometimes, Jesus cries from the pain He feels floating up from earth. When Jesus is sad, so is everyone in Heaven.  I am putting my lips up to your ear, Gigi.  Listen.  Jesus wants you to know how important you are to Him.  He wants you to believe in miracles and to never give up. He taught me a new word today; hope.  Jesus wants everyone to have hope in their hearts.

Gigi, you will not believe the bright colors and pretty flowers in Heaven!  Tomorrow, I am going to visit the Rainbow Bridge.  I am learning how to greet the new animals as they arrive in Heaven. There are many animals here.  Please tell everyone to treat their pets with love.  I am with you, Gigi. I am with all of my family. I tickle your cheeks when you are sleeping and when you are thinking of me.  Tell them, that I will always love them.  Love, Skyler
