As I See It

I have been wanting to write this story for some time now but wasn’t quite sure how I should go about it. I thought of different angles and approaches but always seemed to struggle with; what will those reading this short story think. I even looked up to Heaven and prayed for guidance. This story has to be right. It has to reveal my true feelings about my writing, my faith, and my life.  It is important to me that everyone who reads this story will look at themselves, maybe in the mirror or just reflect upon what they believe in their hearts, and see their true selves.  As I look out my patio door and watch the stark winter trees swaying their branches, I am reminded why I write and why I cannot stop. Now, I am realistic that I am not and will never be a famous writer, however, I do believe that my words have the possibility of making a change. If my stories can make those who read them smile, laugh, cry, relate, remember, kindle hope, faith, feel compassion, forgive, love, and above all, instill a desire to help others, then I am successful beyond my writing. I say that because then, my prayers of wanting to make a difference would have been answered.

This is me….

I am an ordinary kinda of gal. I love old things. In fact, I live in a Victorian house in a small quaint town with my husband, Rick and a cat named Ethel. Books play a big part in my life, but I must admit that I am a tad behind with my reading.  I love Christmas trees, music, feeding the homeless cats that walk on my deck every evening and my family. I could go on and on but the point I am trying to make is that I am a plain person, who desperately wants to make a difference. Some say I am a bit old fashion and maybe I am, but in order to change lives, it has to start somewhere.

My faith……..

My faith grows deeper each day through nature, the seasons, the people I meet, a birth of a baby, smiles, sparkling eyes, love of a pet, the kindness of others, love of my family and friends, God’s promises, rainbows, and gratitude for what I hold in my heart. It is important to me to reach out to others who are hungry, hurting, and need assurance that they are okay. My favorite saying is, when we help others, we help ourselves.  With all the sadness many people face today, it is and will always be my heartfelt wish to help in some way, in any way I can to make a difference.

I believe in Angels…..

I have always believed in Angels. Those on earth and those in Heaven. I chose to start the word Angel with a capital because I believe they deserve it. They are important to our daily lives. When Mom was still living my cat, Ethel would gaze at the ceiling every night. I believe the room was filled with those beautiful celestial beings. On the night she died, I believe they took her home, her new home in Heaven.

There are many Angels on earth too. I have met many on a daily basis. They are the teachers who work hard to educate all children, to meet their needs, to care for them, and to celebrate their successes whether small or large. They are the doctors and nurses who work hard to take care of their patients. They are the everyday men, women, and children, who care about others. Who reach out to feed the homeless, visit the lonely, drive cancer patients for treatment, and they are the children who reach out to the lonely boy or girl needing a friend. They are the friends that are always there to lend a shoulder to cry on or a hand to hold.

My heartfelt thoughts…..

Dear Readers, this is my story. I believe in God’s love and His plan for each one of us.  He loves me and He loves you. Reach out and help others, make a difference and always remember when we help others, we help ourselves. Always believe in yourself and your abilities and believe that God hears your prayers.  Wishing everyone a Happy, Healthy New Year!
