Today’s Christmas story is about super earth angels who make a difference each Christmas. Their loving hearts help to brighten the lives of those who are less fortunate, lonely, patients in hospitals, nursing homes, and shelters. And of course, we cannot forget our furry friends who reside in animal shelters.
These angels busy preparing for their own holiday traditions, find the time to shop for special gifts for children and adults, collect needed items for the homeless shelters in the area, and supply the area food banks with food for those who struggle to make ends meet. After the items are purchased, they must be boxed, and delivered, or ready for pick up by local agencies. Their energy, enthusiasm, kind hearts, and desire for children to wake up on Christmas morning, and find a gift just for them under the tree fills me with hope.
I love the idea of warm-hearted groups of people getting together, preparing food, decorating, and serving a holiday meal at homeless shelters. What an excellent way to spread love and joy.
I can almost hear those visiting nursing homes and singing beloved Christmas Carols, bringing back happy memories of decorated trees, candles in the windows, and holiday goodies. Often teens and adults who carol, take time to visit with each patient or resident. I can only imagine, the happiness floating through the halls where those lovely seniors live.
How happy the animal shelters must be to see cars and trucks pull up to their front doors with everything from dog and cat food, treats, toys for animals to cleaning supplies. It tickles my heart to know that there will enough for the animals during the season of love.
To those angels who donate bags of non-perishable food items to our local food banks along with frozen turkeys, and hams for the holidays are amazing. The food you donate helps families that need a little extra help. What a beautiful way to build faith. I will think and say a prayer for those families, as I sit down with mine.
How blessed we all are for those whose hearts are filled with love and their generosity of time. I like to believe that each time someone helps another, heavenly angels sing. Oh, what a choir that must be!
Thank you, earth angels for making a difference with your loving kindness. You are examples of what we are supposed to be doing for others. And for that, I am incredibly grateful!
