WAVE OF LOVE WEDNESDAY

It was a beautiful day today, in spite of the humidity. As I am getting a tad older, each day I wake up is a good day. This afternoon, I had my yearly mammogram. I go faithfully for this important wellness check. As I drove to the facility, I thought about all those precious women who have heard or who will hear the words, ” You have  breast cancer.”

I thought about the fear they felt when they heard the diagnosis. Then, I thought about those brave women who made or will make the decision to do everything in their power to fight with all of their might to beat this horrible disease. While I waited to be called back for my test, a wave of love flooded my body for these women.

I thought about the supports; husbands, family, friends, doctors, nurses, and neighbors. I thought about the loving, encouraging words, prayers, positive comments, hugs, kisses, and, ” If you need a shoulder.”  Through all my thoughts sprinkled with prayers, I honestly believe the greatest gift we can give anyone going through cancer or any disease is love. Love walks daily through thick and thin.  It is the bond that connects to hope and faith. And when we have hope, good things start to happen, encouraging those who are ill to keep fighting.

But it doesn’t stop there, many people are going through other hardships in their lives; too many to discuss here. But once again, if we reach out and love those who are hurting unconditionally, situations can change, people can change, and hope can take root in hearts.

Be somebody’s blessing. Always try to be a good friend. Be the one who never gives up; and, who is the one, who spreads love every day.  Make a difference.

” There is no fear in love.”  1 Peter 4:8
